Our BIFF-Fans have spoken. The results from our poll for your favorite movies from the past 9 festivals are:

The Movies:

Opening Night Feature Friday July 22nd 7:30 PM

"Beach Blanket Bingo" (1965)

A marvelous cast (Paul Lynde! Don Rickles! Linda Evans!) is collected in what is possibly the most beloved of the 1960's Frankie Avalon/Annette Funicello beach movies. In this installment, Bonehead (Jody McCrea) falls in love with a mermaid, not-so-threatening biker Eric Von Zipper (Harvey Lembeck) terrorizes the beach, Frankie sky dives, surfs, and sings some songs, and Annette sings and looks simply smashing in a two-piece. Throw in an appearance from silent screen legend Buster Keaton and a score by lounge music god Les Baxter, and you have a can't-miss time capsule from a simpler, possibly better, time.
This film came in second place in our poll and originally played during the Beach Blanket Bicknell BIFF in 2002.

Special Screening and Seminar Saturday July 23rd 2 P.M.

'Half Way To Hell'
(1961)

Filmed just down the road in Torrey, this film came in third place in our poll and was originally shown in 2000 at King B - The Fine Films of Al Adamson

This is the only print of this film in existence.

Following this movie we will have our famous Seminar/Discussion titled "What Makes a 'B' Movie Be' featuring Half Way's cinematographer Gary Graver and Leigh Von Der Esch from the Utah Film Commission..

Closing Night Feature Presentation Saturday July 23rd 7:30 P.M.

"Rubin & Ed" (1991)

Reclusive Rubin Farr teams up with vocal but unsuccessful multi-level salesman Ed Tuttle on a quest to bury Rubin's dead cat in the "perfect spot." Their trip takes them across Utah's desert where they have run-ins with Ed's ex-wife Rula and an elusive Andy Warhol critic.

Rubin & Ed was our first place winner and was also our featured film at the BIFF 1/2 in 1995, where all this madness was conceived!

Filmed here in Wayne County! How appropriate.
